Gennadios Arvanitis is a producer, performer and audio electronics tech from Athens, Greece. He produces music mainly by using hardware instruments such as samplers, synthesizers and live looping. Having experimented with audio electronics and circuit-bending, he constantly modifies his gear and uses that gear and circuit-bent toys to sample them and make music around interesting sounds coming out of them. Having released his latest album ‘A space OCD’ both on vinyl and digitally though Mekka Records (which he is part of), he continues doing shows and coming up with new material for future releases.

His mixtape for Paranoiseis is more of a concept, where a 10-year old mp3 player is playing on shuffle. The intro and the outro are played live and the tracks being played in between are random music Degear0001 still happily listens to by various artists. Some interesting, some not that much, some tracks are skipped because they’re meh, shifting through moods (as he usually does). The whole set is recorded through his live-setup, consisting of an sp-404 and a looper, so some effects are applied live according to what’s playing, maybe some mild fingerdrumming or looping here and there, hoping this playful mood will sound as fun as it was recording it.
